Leather Design NIFT is unique in offering opportunities in Leather garments, Goods, Footwear and lifestyle Accessories. Structured and focused on the human resource requirements of these Industries in emphasize on integration of design concepts with material knowledge. High Exposure to the industry and multidisciplinary approach strengthens the spectrum of profiles, which require qualitative intervention.

Accessory Design

Accessory Design has a well-defined curriculum for developing integrated expertise in design methodology, materials & production process, consumer behaviour, market dynamics trends, forecast interpretations, business practices and project management in the field of fashion and lifestyle accessories. A strong industry orientation is reflected in its credo 'Design for Business' with the most successful industry education interface in student learning. The programme has gradually evolved to address the entire spectrum of accessories and lifestyle products including personal, home, retail and office accessories, automobile accessories, digitally smart products, luxury and hand crafted accessories, plush toys and educational toys.

Knitwear Design

Knitwear Design has evolved from its perception as hand knitting to a global industry for fashion apparel.The play of knit and purl presents the backbone for baby-wear, kids wear, active or sportswear, casual apparel, winter wear, lingerie and intimate apparels; also it has been showing its versatility in all other areas of fashion previously limited to woven fabric across the global ramp.

Fashion Communication

Fashion Communication forms the core of the whole business of Fashion .The programme addresses the niche by enhancing the student's command in all sub-disciplines of visual communication. It is a four-year undergraduate degree programme with specialization in Graphic Design, Styling and Photography, Visual Merchandising, Fashion Journalism, Advertising, Retail Brand Management, Public Relations, Space Design, Event Management, Art Direction and many more. At the exit level therefore, equipped with an intensive skill, knowledge and concept base, Fashion Communication students emerge as dynamic professionals qualified to offer the most effective, most creative and financially viable communication solutions for the fashion and lifestyle industry.

Apparel Production

The multi-disciplinary four year program with well integrated information systems gives students insight on diktat of fashion manufacturing business and keeps them abreast with the latest and best methods and practices in sewn product industry. It prepares professionals who can significantly contribute to the fashion technology domain of the apparel industry by providing practical solutions to the industry in India and abroad.

Fashion Management

The objective of the two-year "Master of Fashion Management (MFM)" Programme (erstwhile AMM) started in 1987, is to develop managerial and leadership skills for building competitiveness of the fashion industry. The objective is also to equip young talent in the areas of marketing, merchandising, retailing, supply chain management, and garment exports in order to meet the specific skill needs of the industry. Along with developing of the core competencies through different subject verticals, the programme also ensures that students are well equipped with soft skills and an ethical foundation.
